The race began with a fierce battle between Mauricio Lambiris (Ford Focus) and Facundo Chapur (Honda Civic), setting the tone for the competition. This was followed by a dramatic incident in the fourth lap, where Lambiris collided with the wall, allowing Urcera to ascend to second place and engage in a thrilling duel with Domenech.
The tension escalated as Urcera, driven by GR Competición, seized the lead in the 13th round. Yet, Domenech, the champion of 2024, swiftly regained control in the following lap, securing his sixth victory in the TN C3 class and his third with the VW Virtus. This win marked his 20th race with the VW Virtus, a testament to his unwavering determination and skill.
Domenech expressed his elation, stating, 'It was a fantastic final, where we pushed to the limit. We had a similar pace to Manu (Urcera), who kept me on my toes throughout the race. When he passed me, I avoided any contact, knowing I'd get another chance. Thankfully, when I went after him, I managed to overtake him with a well-executed maneuver. We started this season like last year, and let's hope it doesn't end the same way...'
Urcera, who had previously finished third in the 2025 Coronation in Mendoza, added another podium finish to his tally, marking his 24th in the category. This special weekend was further sweetened by the recent passing of his grandfather, Ernesto Urcera. Urcera shared his mixed emotions, acknowledging that this was his job, and he was pleased with the outcome. He praised the maneuvers executed with Domenech, highlighting the competitive spirit of the race.
Interestingly, Urcera shared the podium with Facundo Chapur (Honda Civic), who replaced 'Manu' at Larrauri Racing. Chapur, despite an error in the first lap, managed to secure his 38th podium in the TN C3 class, a remarkable achievement. This race also confirmed Chapur's participation, just four days before the start of the event.
The next TN race will take place on March 14th and 15th at the Oscar Cabalén speedway in Villa Parque Santa Ana, Córdoba province. This upcoming event promises to be another thrilling spectacle, as the racing community eagerly awaits the next chapter in this captivating season.
